“We find beauty not only in the thing itself but in the pattern of the shadows, the light and darkness, that one thing against another creates.”

I grew up in a small suburb of St. Louis, Missouri, the quiet, introverted and youngest of 4 children to David and Beth Taylor. I was always creative and remember drawing and coloring a lot. My first true creative love was when I discovered the brilliant Special Effects Artists of films like Star Wars. I found the entire behind-the-scenes process of movie making captivating. As I moved on to college I floundered a bit…not quite knowing what path to take. I began by taking Art courses at St. Louis Community College. That is where I discovered an Stage Craft class which launched me into the world of Theatre. As a result, I graduated with my B.F.A. in Theatre: Set and Costume Design from The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University in 1998.

From there, I moved to Los Angeles, and managed to find small successes in a myriad of creative endeavors: Set Designer, Scenic Artist, Decorative Painter, Mural Artist and even, briefly, a teacher of Faux Finishes. I love the collaborative creative process that all of those types of art work required, and the catalyst it provided for my talents.

By 2005, I had found myself I focused on a normal retail career and then soon after, motherhood. It was only in 2015 when I began to paint my own vision on canvas (for the first time ever really), using the wonderful patterns provided by natural world around me. The organic patterns I see in everything from fire, to water to the surface of the earth consistently inspires me.

This is the result and continuing journey…thank you for taking the time to visit!
